Alison Shutt joined the Therapeutic Oasis team in July 2018 as a Care Support Specialist, after receiving her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University. While working at Therapeutic Oasis, she continued her education, recently earning her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Florida Atlantic University and becoming a National Certified Counselor in May 2022. Alison is now a Registered Mental Health Counselor at the Boca Raton office of Therapeutic Oasis.
Through her internships at substance use settings and Therapeutic Oasis, she has had invaluable experience working with individuals and families with a wide variety of therapeutic concerns and across the lifespan. By becoming curious with her clients about their current symptoms, Alison works closely with them to identify targets and move toward realistic and sustainable change. She is passionate about meeting individuals where they are and supporting them as they progress effectively toward their goals. She holds a supportive and non-judgmental stance so people can best understand their current behaviors as they work toward creating new and more effective alternatives. Alison utilizes a collaborative approach to empower clients to embody their authentic selves and is dedicated to assisting individuals and families develop their life worth living, increase meaningful connections, and maintain long-term change.
