Marisa Gaumer joined the Therapeutic Oasis team in February 2023, bringing her passion for empowering teens and young adults as they embark on their journeys toward independence. She specializes in supporting clients as they navigate the challenges of launching into adulthood, whether that means preparing for college, entering the workforce, or managing life transitions.

Marisa’s clinical interests also include dialectical behavior therapy, social anxiety, career counseling, couples counseling, and LGBTQIA+ issues. Marisa adopts a client-centered approach emphasizing collaboration and empowerment throughout the therapeutic process. She believes therapy should be a safe haven. In this inviting space, individuals can explore their thoughts and feelings, cultivate self-awareness, and develop practical skills to balance acceptance and change.

Marisa’s nonjudgmental stance fosters an environment where clients feel comfortable being their true selves—no masks required. Her ultimate goal is to help clients live authentically and build the skills necessary to create a life they look forward to every day. In this journey, Marisa guides clients in overcoming perfectionism, building self-compassion, and learning how to be present and fully engaged in their experiences.

Marisa earned her Bachelor of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from the University of Central Florida and her Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Atlantic University. She proudly received her Registered Intern status in May 2024 and has completed Level 3 clinical training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy, equipping her to help couples strengthen their relationships.

Outside of her professional life, Marisa embraces adventure and creativity. She loves traveling to new places, exploring the great outdoors through hiking, and seeking thrills while snorkeling and kayaking. Music is also a big part of her life; She’s a fan of live music and often attends concerts and music festivals, soaking in the energy and connection that comes with shared experiences. Marisa believes that balancing work and play is essential to living fully, and she brings that same spirit of joy and exploration into her therapy sessions.
