Insurance & Billing

Therapeutic Oasis does not accept insurance, which means we are an out-of-network provider. If you insurance plan has out-of-network benefits, our office will provide you with a monthly superbill statement that you may use to file your own claims. Please note that when you submit claims, your insurance company will require a mental health diagnosis for mental health therapy and a medical diagnosis for nutrition therapy, both of which will become a permanent part of your medical record. Also, keep in mind that each insurance plan has different deductibles, co-insurances, and reimbursement rates for out-of-network providers.

We require payment in full before services are rendered.

In-Network vs. Out-of-Network Providers

Therapeutic Oasis has opted not to participate as an in-network provider. Many people seeking therapy search for an in-network provider serving on their insurance plan; however, there are several reasons why you should consider using an out-of-network provider:

  • Increased Privacy

By using an in-network provider, your diagnosis becomes a permanent part of your record.  Your insurance company has the right to demand personal progress notes and treatment plan updates.

By choosing an out-of-network provider, you are able to retain confidentiality.  If you choose to submit a superbill to your insurance company for out-of-network services, we are required to provide either a mental health diagnosis or medical diagnosis, depending if you are seen for behavioral health or nutrition therapy. Nevertheless, by choosing an out-of-network provider, you retain greater control of your mental health record. Your insurance company can only request progress notes (rather than demand them).

  • Personalized Treatment Plan

Using insurance for behavioral health therapy often means that your insurance company has the ability to dictate your treatment plan.  Examples may include limiting the number of visits you have per calendar year or denying certain CPT codes on the basis of that code being medically unnecessary.

As an out-of-network provider, Therapeutic Oasis has no limitations regarding your treatment.  Your treatment will be driven by therapeutic recommendations; not insurance profitability.

  • Access to Highly Skilled and Specialized Services

Therapeutic Oasis offers specialized services from highly skilled therapists and nutritionists.  Moreover, we work as a team to make sure that you have the best treatment available.  By choosing to go in-network, you are unlikely to find a provider that has either the unique training or access to team support which our therapists have at the Oasis.
