Recovery

It’s a word we think about when healing from surgery, an injury, an eating disorder or alcohol or substance use.

But did you realize that Diet Recovery is a real thing?

Who Needs Diet Recovery?

Chronic dieting is actually problematic, dangerous and unhealthy.

If you’re someone who’s been on the rollercoaster of dieting, you’ve likely jumped on believing you would be healthier as a result. You thought that the pursuit of weight loss was going to be good for you. And you became frustrated and defeated every time weight loss (if there was any), didn’t last. Likely, you regained the weight and, also likely, your body added a little extra weight in case there was another diet around the corner.

So yes, diet recovery is a real thing. It’s necessary because diets mess us up. They teach us to set rules, disconnect from our internal signals (appetite, hunger, satisfaction, fullness), and mistrust our own wisdom. They teach us to hate our bodies and fight within ourselves.

What is Diet Recovery?

Diet recovery includes reconnecting with our innate, intuitive self.  Intuitive Eating is the framework that beautifully moves us out of diet thinking, diet living, and diet disconnection to a place where we can be at peace with food and treat our bodies with the respect they deserve.
