Our treatment philosophy at Therapeutic Oasis embraces the mental, physical, and social condition of each client. As a result, our clients are offered an array of treatment services that complement traditional individual and group therapy. The addition of holistic therapies supports the mind, body, and spiritual needs of the individual. Our holistic services include yoga, yoga therapy, exercise and movement, meditation, and more.
Yoga can help you develop a healthier relationship with your body and work on emotional issues such as anxiety, trauma, and depression. Our yoga instructors are trained in working with individuals suffering from trauma, eating disorders, anxiety, and other mental health issues. Each Yoga session is individualized to meet the specific needs of each client.
Yoga Therapy is not just another style of yoga. It is a collaborative effort between client and Yoga Therapist that addresses the individual’s structural pain, physiological conditions and emotional challenges. Through the one-on-one sessions, and through a personalized home practice, the goal is to enhance health and well-being by reducing symptoms, increasing self-understanding, fostering self-compassion, and deepening connection.
Guided Fitness Training
Many types of exercise have been shown to improve mental health. For example, aerobic exercise can increase blood flow to the brain and release endorphins, which can improve mood and reduce stress and anxiety. Strength training exercises, such as weightlifting or bodyweight exercises like push-ups and squats, can increase levels of serotonin and other neurotransmitters in the brain, which can improve mood and reduce symptoms of depression. Oasis professional trainers create a personlized fitness plan that is geared towards a client’s individual needs.
Breathwork typically involves controlled breathing exercises that are designed to increase oxygen intake and improve the flow of energy throughout the body. Depending on the specific technique, breathwork may be practiced in a seated or lying down position, and may be accompanied by music, visualization, or other tools to enhance the experience. Many practitioners of breathwork report a range of benefits, including reduced stress and anxiety, improved focus and concentration, increased energy and vitality, and a greater sense of calm and well-being. Some types of breathwork are also used therapeutically to address specific physical or emotional issues, such as chronic pain, trauma, or addiction.
It’s important to note that while breathwork can be a powerful tool for self-care and personal growth, it should be practiced under the guidance of a qualified practitioner, particularly if you have any underlying health conditions or concerns.
Meditation and Mindfulness
Meditation and training in mindfulness have been shown to reduce anxiety, improve mood, and decrease suffering. Therapeutic Oasis provides access to many different types of meditation and mindfulness practices through its association with Sacred Treehouse. Clients can participate in group classes, or individual mindfulness coaching as indicated by their individual therapist. Oasis also offers access to MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction) and MSC (Mindful Self-Compassion) through Sacred Treehouse
Please note, meditation training is not geared toward any particular religious affiliation and all religions are welcome.
