Dr. Nicolette Sacket earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Florida, where she specialized in child psychology and minored in social work and Spanish. Dr. Sacket has extensive experience working with individuals of all ages in various settings, including hospitals, therapeutic group homes, community mental health centers, and private practice.

During her doctoral training, she worked at two trauma-focused clinics and wrote her dissertation on the use of yoga as an adjunctive treatment for adults with prolonged childhood trauma. She is passionate about incorporating yoga and mindfulness into treatment, particularly in helping individuals who have experienced trauma to reconnect with their authentic selves with compassion and joy.

Dr. Sacket’s clinical interests include working with teens and adults who are dealing with trauma, complex trauma, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, grief, interpersonal difficulties, identity issues, self-worth, and life transitions. She also has experience in providing group therapy for adults and conducting comprehensive assessment batteries.

Dr. Sacket takes a humanistic and holistic approach to therapy, striving to understand the whole person and meet clients with unconditional positive regard, genuineness, and a nonjudgmental stance, no matter where they are in life. She customizes her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client. drawing from modalities such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), and contextual trauma therapy. In her sessions, the focus is on “being” rather than “doing,” emphasizing the here and now, slowing down to notice the body and internal signals, and working relationally.
