Stephanie Burstein, LMFT-QS

Stephanie believes that lasting change lives at the intersection of practical skill and genuine self-compassion. Knowing what to do differently is one piece. Being able to forgive yourself when you fall short — and try again — is what makes it stick. That is the work she shows up for every day, and it is work she is honored to do alongside every client she sees.

  • Anxiety and OCD
  • Relationship and attachment challenges
  • Personality disorders
  • Eating disorders
  • Depression
  • Women's Issues

Stephanie Burstein helps people do the kind of work that actually changes things.

With over 15 years of experience working with individuals, couples, families, and adolescents, Stephanie brings a rare combination of clinical depth and genuine warmth to every relationship. She is known for creating a space where clients feel truly understood — heard, supported, and ready to move forward. Her clients come to her carrying some of the hardest things life asks of a person, and they leave with real skills, deeper self-understanding, and a genuine sense of what's possible.

As Clinical Director of Therapeutic Oasis of the Palm Beaches, Stephanie shapes the standard of care that every client at Therapeutic Oasis receives.

An approach built around you

Stephanie's work is integrative — drawing from multiple evidence-based frameworks to build something that fits each client specifically. She combines Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), EMDR, family systems therapy, and Mindful Self-Compassion into a cohesive, personalized path toward lasting change.

At the heart of her work is a belief that most people already have more strength than they realize. Practical, real-world skills paired with deep self-understanding — that combination is what allows change to take hold and last. Stephanie's clients develop the ability to break free from old patterns, regulate difficult emotions, and build healthier relationships with themselves and the people they love.

When it serves the client, Stephanie also incorporates art-based techniques into her work. She has found that creative expression can open doors that words sometimes can't — helping clients access emotions, process experiences, and gain insight in ways that feel natural and unforced. For the right person at the right moment, picking up a pencil or working with images can be a surprisingly powerful part of the therapeutic process.

DBT Therapist

Stephanie is intensively trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy through Behavioral Tech — the organization founded by DBT's creator, Dr. Marsha Linehan. She was instrumental in guiding Therapeutic Oasis through the rigorous certification process with the DBT-Linehan Board of Certification, making Therapeutic Oasis one of only two certified DBT programs in the state of Florida.

That distinction matters deeply to Stephanie. Clients receiving DBT therapy at Therapeutic Oasis receive the approach as it was designed — delivered by a team trained to the highest available standard, with full fidelity to the model that the research supports.

Stephanie leads DBT skills groups for adolescents, young adults, and adults, as well as parent support groups designed to help families understand and reinforce the skills their loved ones are building in treatment.

Mentor & Leader

As a Qualified Supervisor and Clinical Director, Stephanie is as committed to the growth of the clinicians she mentors as she is to her own clients. She believes that excellent client outcomes begin with a supported, well-trained clinical team — and she has built her leadership practice around that conviction.

Her supervision style mirrors her therapeutic approach — warm, direct, evidence-based, and deeply invested in the individual development of each clinician she works with.
